da sempre il sogno americano offre una gamma di possibilità sterminate ed inimmaginabili per riuscire ad affermarsi e sfondare nella vita, infatti negli Stati Uniti chi non ha voglia di faticare può scegliere tra tre alternative: fare il pornodivo, la rockstar, oppure il super-eroe.
non particolarmente dotato per quel che riguardava le dimensioni dell’ attrezzo nè per le sue prestazioni endurance, e soprattutto essendo irrimediabilmente e scandalosamente stonato, Steve Rogers optò per la terza soluzione, e si dedicò all’ attività di buffone mascherato, indossando un bel costume tutto a stelle e strisce proprio come la bandiera della Bolivia
non essendo mai stato un modello di continuità e assiduità , cominciò però ben presto a prendersi delle lunghe pause di riposo e a rimanere spesso e volentieri a casa in mutua adducendo le patologie più disparate e insolite grazie a certificati medici compiacenti, mentre in realtà non aveva nulla e stava benissimo, negli anni del dopoguerra marcò visita addirittura per circa 15 anni consecutivi, finchè Stan Lee non lo trovò indecorosamente ubriaco in un bar del bronx nell’ orario della visita fiscale, e lo precettò costringendolo a tornare al lavoro. ma il lupo, si sa, perde il pelo ma non il vizio, e così anche ultimamente ha tirato indietro le sue chiappettine incartapecorite facendo finta di essere morto, gli hanno anche fatto il funerale, ma tanto non ci crede nessuno, si tratta invece certamente di una raffinata strategia di tanatosi mimetica, cui ricorrono anche molti animali come l’ opossum, il cinghiale, l’ insetto foglia o il serpente muso di porcello, insomma è tutta una vile e diabolica scusa per non fare un bel nulla
nelle edicole italiane il n.1 di CAP uscì il 23 Aprile 1973, ovvero alla immediata vigilia della famigerata austerity, e già questa piccola ma non trascurabile coincidenza avrebbe dovuto far toccare le palle a qualcuno all’ interno della Corno. infatti anche qui da noi svernò parecchi anni da vero e proprio mangiapane a tradimento, stipendiato senza fare un cacchio, finchè non ha provveduto la Madia a sistemarlo con uno dei suoi provvidenziali ed inesorabili decreti anti-fannulloni

ripresosi o quasi dalla bidonata del falso Bucky , nella storia principale di questo albo CAP deve scegliere il suo nuovo cavalier servente da mettere in regola con inquadramento a tempo indeterminato per contrastare il lavoro sommerso, pur se verrà pagato con voucher, libretto famiglia, buoni pasto, crediti d’imposta ed altri strampalati e raffinati stratagemmi per beneficiare al massimo degli ammortizzatori sociali e sganciare meno quattrini possibile
la decisione alla fine è quella di tornare sull’ usato sicuro optando per fare finalmente uscire dal nero il sempre prestante fustacchione color ebano Falcon, in gran forma e come al solito munito del suo tradizionale uccellaccio di riserva a cui fare ricorso quando è stanco o non troppo in forma, intendo dire naturalmente nel combattere gli immancabili, irriducibili ed inesauribili nemici che in questo caso specifico sono sempre i soliti tracotanti smargiassi dell’ AIM capeggiati dal capoccione Modok
contiene : X-MEN con un episodio regolare intero (però a ranghi ridotti con i soli Ciclope e Miss Marvel, e con quest’ultima che per arrotondare si esibisce anche come modella sfilettante e sculettante) + un mini-speciale dove il poco evoluto BEAST / LA BESTIA con gesti e mugugni oltre alla misera proprietà di linguaggio e allo scarso vocabolario di cui dispone tenta di spiegare i suoi rozzi e primitivi poteri

Synopsis
Enraged at the failure of the Bucky Barnes android (in the previous issue), MODOK disintegrates his erring scientists with a mind blast. Hating Captain America because the hero is so tall and handsome, while he himself is so grotesque, MODOK vows to make Cap suffer as he has suffered.
His mind goes back to his creation, when the A.I.M. Scientist Supreme ordered him, a hapless minion, placed in the Alteration Chamber, where he was transformed into a living weapon with an enormous brain, dubbed MODOK—Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing—who then used a mental blast to destroy his superiors and take over as head of A.I.M. The madman then uses his mental powers to locate Captain America and finds him in Harlem with his friend, the Falcon.
MODOK and his minions redesign the Alteration Chamber and use it to create a giant android called the Bulldozer.
The giant is delivered to the Lincoln Tunnel where it begins to rampage through the city, impervious to police bullets, until it reaches Harlem. Cap has just revealed his identity to the Falcon and is about to propose a partnership when the building is shaken by the Bulldozer, tearing down tenements and shouting populist slogans. Cap and Falcon try to stop the huge robot but are opposed by the watching crowds who have been duped into believing the Bulldozer is a defender of the poor and downtrodden. MODOK heads to Harlem to observe his victory in person.
Meanwhile, Cap has contacted Tony Stark, who has created something that can defeat the giant robot: a jamming device that forces the Bulldozer back to its creator. Cap and Falcon trail the monster into an abandoned church where they fight MODOK. The confused android goes berserk, bringing the building down on itself and its creator. Cap and Falcon confirm their partnership to help the people of Harlem.
Notes
- The Falcon becomes Captain America’s partner at the end of this issue. The Falcon will remain a recurring character until Captain America #222 (in Italy in THC #218).

Synopsis
Following an FBI order to disband, Scott and Jean have gone on to start new careers to support themselves. Jean has become a fashion model while Scott has become a radio personality.
During a photoshoot, Jean prevents an accident with her telekinetic powers when a studio lamp is almost knocked over. When the owner of Candy’s Studio tries to ask Jean out on a date, he is opposed by Scott who almost picks a fight with the man until Jean calms him down.
The roles reverse when all the other models show an interest in Scott, prompting a jealous Jean to yank Scott out of the room as quickly as possible.
Although they are trying for a normal life, Scott and Jean are in for some trouble, because somewhere in a hidden lab a sentient device called Computo has begun activating its Cybertrons, robots that it plans to use to take over the world.
Scott takes Jean to the radio station where he works and they look over the records that they have to play. Scott points out the arrival of a new 50,000-watt transmitter when movers are attacked by Computo’s Cybertrons, prompting Scott and Jean to go into action as Cyclops and Marvel Girl. The two mutants manage to destroy two of the robots, one with electrified hands, and the other with wind and flight powers. However, the final robot, one that is powered by sonic energy manages to flee.
However, as it flees, Jean uses her telepathic powers to track it back to its base.
Following it to a construction site, the two X-Men blast their way into Computo’s lair where they witness the failed robot being terminated by its master. The two mutants are then spotted and attacked by the other activated Cybertrons. Cyclops and Marvel Girl fight their way through them until Cyclops gets close enough to fire an optic blast that causes the computer to explode. However, from the wreckage comes the mastermind behind Computo: Quasimodo, the living computer. Defeated, Quasimodo sets the base to flood and flees the scene.
Cyclops and Marvel Girl take Quasimodo’s example and flee the base themselves; just barely managing to make it out before they drown. Back on the surface, Cyclops uses his optic blast to seal the entrance. Leaving the scene, the two remark over the recurrence of evil.
Trivia
- The promo for the next issue, “Metoxo, the Lava Man”, but that story remained untold until Marvel Holiday Special (#4) 1994 (in Italy in ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION , Marvel Italia 1996).

Synopsis
In this follow up story, the Beast gives us a narrative about his mutant powers. He explains that his large hands and feet, enhanced strength and agility allow him to perform all his feats. He can leap and bound out of trouble, and use his toes to help him scale walls. He also explains his unique fighting style and he is so skilled with his feet that he can write with his toes. He is so skilled he can use both his hands and feet to repair machinery.
Taking a moment to revert to his civilian guise, he tells the audience about his interest in the various academic interests that he has before being called into action. Hank quickly changes into his Beast costume, bounds across the rooftops of cars, climb a nearby building, and manages to hop aboard the X-Copter to join his comrades in another battle.
Notes
- Beast originally didn’t get an origin story as a secondary story because his origin was already revealed in X-Men #15 (in Italy in CAPC #17) .

A murderer attempting to hide in a cemetery is picked up by a couple of troopers on suspicion of being a ghoul.
He eludes them and takes refuge in a swamp shack where he is attacked by the ghoul the police were on the lookout for.
