GLI ETERNI
EDITORIALE CORNO, 1978

Synopsis
Thena and Makkari continue to find the Deviants. They surround them
in a ring of fire then Thena hurls an anti-gravity spear that forces all
of those trapped by the flames to rise into the air. They set their
craft down and confront Kro directly.
Kro tells Thena that he has no
reason to continue his attack on New York. He has inspired sufficient
fear in the human populace and is confident that they will see the Space
Gods as their enemies just as much as the Deviants. Thena is
incredulous of Kro’s strategy and believes that humanity will rise above
their innate fear of “space devils”. Kro proposes a truce and Thena
accepts.
Meanwhile aboard a Deviant submersible, Sersi antagonizes her
captors while Margo looks on in shock.
After tormenting the Deviants
with her powers of transformation, she forces them to retrieve the
torpedo tube containing the unconscious body of Ikaris. Once the
cannister is brought on board the craft, the Brain Mine that kept him
inert is removed.
They return to New York and reunite with Thena, Makkari and Kro.
Ikkaris cannot believe that Thena agreed to a truce with the Deviants.
Margo comes up with the idea of introducing them to an anthropologist
named Sam Holden. After learning about the history of the Eternals and
the Deviants, Holden decides to hold a Q&A session at City College.
Kro and the other Eternals attend the function and provide a public
display of their abilities.
Meanwhile, S.H.I.E.L.D. sends a team of researchers to survey the
sealed area in the Andes Mountains surrounding the City of the Space
Gods. The Celestial known as Gammenon suddenly appears before them and
seemingly kills the men.
Notes
- This is the first time that the existence of the greater Marvel
Universe is acknowledged in this series. Previously, it was unclear
whether the Eternals existed in the same continuity as the Marvel
Universe, or in a separate continuity altogether.
- The names of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Parks and Tyler is not revealed until next issue.

Synopsis
After a date to the movie gone wrong, and another day at school,
Richard Rider returns home to hear a television news announcement that
Marvel Comics is seeking out Nova because they are interested in doing a
comic book based on him. At the Marvel Comics office he meets with Marv
Wolfman and Sal Buscema who want to follow him on an adventure.
They get their wish when Tyrannus terrorizes the surface world
once more with a boring device, prompting Nova to go into action.
He
battles Tyrannus and his Tyrannoids, and destroys his Earth-Shaker
device. With Nova capturing Tyrannus and his plot destroyed, Tyrannus
agrees to leave peacefully.
Returning back to the Marvel Comics office, the impressed Marv
and Sal try to sell the idea of a Nova comic book to Stan Lee himself.
However, Stan thinks that Nova is too young for his own comic book
series and rejects the proposal.
The proposal is also rejected in lieu
of a new series that Stan greenlit: Mida the Million Dollar Mouse. Nova
departs the Marvel Comics office figuring the whole episode is just
another example of the Rider luck.
Notes
- In Incredible Hulk #241 (in Italy in URCSETT #10), Tyrannus is revealed to have lost his youth since his previous appearance in Fantastic Four #128 (in Italy in F4C #126).
He explains then that he possessed one of his Tyrannoids and
transformed it to look like him and take his place during this
appearance. - At one point in the Marvel Comics office, John Verpoorten berates Marv Wolfman: “You’re late on Tomb of Dracula again! Colan needs a story!” Wolfman has to wait until Harold H. Harold telephones him to find out the latest poop on The Count.
