Synopsis
With Ben on a rampage through New York City, Reed deduces that the
recent experiment that granted Ben with the ability to change back and
fourth between his human and Thing forms has caused a mental imbalance
that has made him evil.
As Reed, and Johnny try to contain Ben’s rampage, Sue travels
back to Whisper Hill with Agatha Harkness, and J. Jonah Jameson begins
an editorial against the Fantastic Four. To make matter worse, as Reed
is trying to come up with a solution to curing Ben, the landlord of the
Baxter building is evicting them and a protest against them is forming
on the street below.
As Ben gets under the employ of some robbers, Reed has Johnny
send out a message for Bruce Banner to come to the Baxter building at
once. On the way in a taxi however, Bruce gets excited enough to
transform into the Hulk. Bursting out of the cab, the Hulk comes face to
face with the Thing and the two begin to battle.

Synopsis
Namor, without his memories and haunted by the figure of his father,
is injured escaping from the authorities and is taken in by a young
woman. However, Namor has drawn the attention of Dr. Doom who is well
aware of Namor’s memory loss and is eager to get him to join his cause.
Fortunately, pieces of his memory convince Namor that Doom isn’t to be
trusted and attacks him. Their battle is stopped by the young woman,
Cindy Jones, who took Namor in and Dr. Doom invites them both to the
Latverian Embassy. Doom tricks Namor into becoming his ally once again
and they head out to attack an A.I.M. installation so that Doom can get
his hands on the Cosmic Cube.

Continued from last issue…
Drax escape from the mountain where Thanos had left him last issue and fly away after Captain Marvel, and the Controller had captured Lou-Ann again and Rick Jones
is under the wrecks of the Avengers Mansion. Eon continues to explain
what changes Marvel has to make in order to become aware of everything
in Universe and then be able to fight Thanos.

Notes
- In this issue, Captain Marvel is first granted the Protector of the Universe
title, his cosmic awareness,and other internal changes. He also
undergoes a few external changes, including his hair color changing from
white to blonde.
- This story is Job # 16117 (seen on Page 1).
- This is the first solo issue Jim Starlin writes without Mike Friedrich.
- In this issue, Eon restores Mar-Vell’s romantic interest Una’s body but not her soul. Her story will be continued in Captain Marvel #40.
